Anneke learned to knit when she was 8. A horse girl at heart, she would sketch her model horses in a studio on the floor at the foot of her bed constructed with stacks of books and a desklamp. She received a Fine Arts degree from Alfred University in 2008. Since then, she has continued her study of spinning, knitting, and printmaking, and teaches classes in wheel-thrown ceramics. Anneke derives much of her inspiration from children (the greatest artists of them all), communication, human relationships, cultural crossroads, the Joy of Cooking, traditional crafts, farming, music, and the places where they intersect.
